The FINANCIAL -- Cisco and Itautec have launched a solution developed specifically for Brazilian retailers called POS in a Minute.
According to Cisco, the new offering includes the networking and wireless infrastructure, IP telephony and security systems integrated into a single platform that allows retailers to quickly setting up of a point of sale (POS), with low installation and maintenance costs.
By integrating all of these capabilities into the POS in a Minute solution, retailers only need on-site power to quickly and securely activate points of sale, at places such as supermarket checkouts, pharmacies, kiosks, etc. It takes an average of just 30 minutes to deploy the solution from the time the equipment is received until it is fully operational.
In addition to the quick installation, another benefit of POS in a Minute is its low operational costs. The integrated solution simplifies training and management, as well as provides enhanced protection for business continuity and boosts optimization for physical space inside stores.
The new solution is based on the Cisco Integrated Services Router, the ISR G2, which offers basic connectivity to servers, POS, the back office and supports, wireless and unified communications solutions, including IP telephony and video. POS in a Minute also offers advanced security options, with a firewall, cloud solutions and 3G link.
Integration of unified communication services provides benefits for employees and customers. For employees, there are flexible communications with videoconferencing and mobility as well as remote extensions. For customers, video can provide an enhanced level of service at the point of sale. For example, real-time conversations with remote specialists can be conducted over high-definition video to answer customer questions on specific products.
Itautec brings all of its commercial automation experience to POS in a Minute, providing integrated support and management with a centralized support desk, to enhance business continuity and reduce operating risks.
