Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Recourses is periodically inspecting Batumi Oil Terminal and this fully corresponds to the Permission conditions. Besides the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Recourses of Georgia the third party audits also carry out inspection on regular basis, among them there are companies like: BP, ExxonMobil, Chevron, Tengiz ChevrOil, Shell, SEACOR etc. Batumi Oil Terminal meets the requirements of the Ministry of Georgia as well as the international standards; this is why major oil companies are the customers of Batumi Oil Terminal.

““Batumi Oil Terminal” Ltd fulfills the requirements of Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Recourses and of other international organizations. Such kind of inspection is usual working process for us, since all ecological indicators are monitored and controlled first of all by Terminal itself. Only in 2009 Batumi Oil Terminal has invested more than US $ 5 600 000, major part of this amount is spent for ecological projects and elimination of historical contaminations existing in Terminal already for the years. Compliance with local and international norms and standards is one of the priority tasks for the Terminal as this allows us to attract international companies for cooperation and to provide more than 1000 working places for people who are the only bread-winners in their families. We fully cooperate with Environmental Inspection and upon completion of inspection hope to get positive conclusion” - said the General Director of “Batumi Oil terminal” Ltd Mr. Temirkhan Abdirov.

In February 2008, JSC “KazTransOil” the daughter company to NK JSC “KazMunaiGas” acquired Batumi Oil Terminal and Forwarding Company Petrotrans. JSC “KazTransOil” has also acquired the right of long term managing of Batumi Sea Port. Since February 2008 to January 1, 2010 Batumi Oil Terminal and Batumi Sea Port have invested more than US $ 23 MIO in Batumi assets development and provided more than 3 500 people with working places including contractors.
